Dr Kelly is an Orthopaedic Surgeon who specializes in disorders of the foot and ankle, and previously worked as a research scientist after she received her PhD in Physiology. Before her career as an orthopaedic surgeon, Dr. Kelly worked as a Post Doctoral Research Fellow both in the US and internationally, studying the effects of exercise on the body. She went back to medical school to earn her MD after her career in the laboratory because she wanted to have a more direct impact on improving patients’ lives. The field of orthopaedic surgery is an excellent opportunity to have a positive impact in people’s lives and improve their function. Her experience both as an MD and PhD MD allows her to approach patient care as a clinician and a scientist. Dr Kelly has published extensively, and has earned several distinctions throughout her training and clinical practice.
